Hello, I'm currently working on an animation via the play axis and shape map using Power BI. I also have a gif file that I would like to use, and after doing some research, I learned that I can add gifs to the Power BI file by using a blank button and importing the gif. Is it possible for the gif to play when I hit the play button on the play axis?
Also, I have the images which were then put into a gif. If the first option isn't possible, then would it be possible to have the images update when the play button is pressed?
Thanks!
Hello @peckerbids,
Power BI does not natively support the playback of GIF files or the synchronization of GIF animations with the play button on the play axis. The play axis feature is specifically designed to animate data-driven visualizations based on field values, and it does not have the capability to control or interact with external media files like GIFs.
While you can change the state or appearance of visuals using conditional formatting or measures, it does not provide a direct mechanism to update or cycle through a series of images when the play button is pressed.
Let me know if you might need further assistance.
