Hello everyone,
I am creating a stacked barchart which is quite wide in horizontal (showing months in two years), and I am fine with having a scrollbar inside. But the labels on x-axis are displayed vertically, and I don't know how can I display them horizontally, as usual. When the chart doesn't have enough space, it starts to display labels first diagonally, and then vertically, without asking.
Is there a way to solve it?

Hi @AlexeyRusinov,
Based on my test in a stacked column chart, if I put the date field in X-axis, the and change X-axis type as categorical, the X-axis labels will display vertically and generate a scroll bar automatically. Actually, there is no OOTB feature for us to format X-axis labels's orientation. You can vote on this similar idea item: Change X and Y axis labels manually, similar to Excel.
If you have any question, please feel free to ask.

I realize this was posted almost five years ago, but there has still been no addition to change the x axis label text direction. This is a feature in Excel, I'm not saying every feature in Excel should be in Power BI... but they're both MS products so how is this still not a thing? They made changes to the x axis labels according to that voting link you posted... but somehow the text direction wasn't considered? It's either vertical or horizontal, no other choice, no 45 degree option, nothing.
As of current release, its auto handled by Power BI desktop and you can't specify any option for this.
Check out the October 2024 Power BI update to learn about new features.
