Hi attempt1 Yes, you can reduce the witdth between the columns. See image below for solution in the latest version of power bi :
Just go to layout option in the format option and reduce space between categories, and you are done.

Hi attempt1 ,
You can manage distance beetween columns in power BI "Stacked column Chart".
You can go to format option of visual and go to Column Section > Layout option
in there there is option called space between categories please find screenshot of option below.
