Hi all,
I'm struggling with area charts in Power BI & would greatly appreciate any assistance from the forum.
Requirement 1:
100% Stacked Area Chart - not native to Power BI and only possible with calculation-heavy workarounds.
Does anyone know if there is a better way than this: https://community.powerbi.com/t5/Desktop/Does-PowerBI-support-100-stacked-area-chart/td-p/228731 ?
Requirement 2:
I have 2 stacked area charts on the same report that I need to synchronize the Y axis. The charts need to be fully dynamic as there are multiple dimensions on which they will be sliced. The data items for the 2 charts being:
Chart 1:
X Axis: Month
Y Axis: Expected Sales
Legend: Product
Slicers: Territory, Country, Account etc
Chart 2:
X Axis: Month
Y Axis: Actual Sales
Legend: Product
Slicers: Territory, Country, Account etc
The purpose being a side on side visual comparison of expected vs actual and so the Y axis for both needs to synchronize but this does not seem to be possible in Power BI.
Does anyone know a workaround so the 2 charts synchronize?
Hi @wynhodgkiss ,
For your first requirement, havn't found other suggestions expect the solution in the provided thread.
For your second requirement, I suggest you put the two charts into one Clustered Stacked Bar Chart, please have a try.

Sorry, but it is not a solution if it does not meet my requirements so yet again power bi fails to deliver on the simplest of visualisations.
