Split column by delimiter for date time column changes time

Hey All - hopefully a simple answer - I have a column for start date which captures the start date and time  -I want to separate out the date and time into seperate columns. I can easy peasy to split by delimter - choose space - works great - but the time looses 4 hours for some reason.  Any tme zone setting tricks I'm missing or something? Any alterntive approches to splittting date/time?
