Sorting by multiple columns in clustered column chart

Hi friends,

 

I need to create a clustered column chart to show the spend in different subcategories and their categories. I'd like to sort the data by categories, subcategories, and values. But there is no such option.

 

I will really appreciate any help on this.

    Hi,

     

    Based on my test, there is an option "Sort by"  in the right upper corner of Clustered column chart visual in Power BI Desktop. Please check the version of Power BI Desktop on your side, and the try it again after updating to the latest version 2.70.5494.761 .

      Hi,

       

      Thank you for your idea! Now I create a chart just like the picture below. The problem is that now I can choose sort by category sub-category or sort by sales CY. Is there any approach to sort the data by category sub-category as well as the values(sales CY)? image

        Hi Anonymous ,

         

        Would you like to sort by the Category sub-category and Sales CY at the same time? Currently, it is not supported to sort by more than one fields at the same time in Power BI Desktop. You can post your new idea here https://ideas.powerbi.com/forums/265200-power-bi-ideas , to improve the Power BI.

         

        It is a place for customers provide feedback about Microsoft Office products . What’s more, if a feedback is high voted there by other customers, it will be promising that Microsoft Product Team will take it into consideration when designing the next version in the future.
