Sort x-axis by index number

Hi, I wan't to sort x-axis by another column but got this message.     I have Date column that also contains text a additional info, so the column format is text. I made new columns; Index...

This doesn't work. It is still sorting in the visual by the X-axis variable (instead of the index variable which is not included in the visual). Don't know if this has changed since this original thread in 2019 (it is now 2022).

    I would add the sorting in the visual appears to override the sorting in the table. I worked around the problem by adding a leading letter (in the alphabetical order that I wanted), but it's not the most elegant to have everything in the X-axis started with a letter (e.g., A, B, C, D...etc.)
