Sort Matrix Visual by a field on the table

I have a matrix visual which displays various sales data, counts, average sales, etc.  I created mock data to illustrate the issue in the following pbix:

On the table I added a "Sort" column to sort the items, and I sorted the table based on that column.

How do I sort the matrix visual without adding the Sort field to the visual?

Here's what I get when I create the matrix:

Here's what I want (expected results) without adding the "Sort" field to the matrix visual:

Any help would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks!!

  • Hi ConnieMaldonado ,

I might have a small trick to achieve your call.

Please let the sort column as it is in your picture in the report. We will let it in the matrix but hide it so nobody will see it. For that please do the following.

Default behaviour when you want to hide a column (text wrap in column headers and values)

Step 1) Deactivate word wrap for column headers and values

    2) Toggle the column and make it so small that it is gone. 🙂

    and further ...

    and gone ...

I know it is a workaround but it maybe it helps 🙂

    Best regards

    Michael
