Some DAX Functions not working

Hi!

I have an issue where a large number of DAX functions are not working i.e. they're not even recognized by the program.

I wanted to try to do some simple linear regression in DAX, but when I try using either the LINEST or LINESTX functions, whether I'm doing so in a table or in a measure, they're not recognized. Not only does intellisense not pop up with anything, but I get the error

"Failed to resolve name 'LINESTX'. It is not a valid table, variable, or function name.

Is there some sort of setting I have to enable to use statistical functions or the like? I have had no issues using the aggregation, calender, or filter functions, or any other function for that matter, but these two seems like they're unusable for me.

Thanks in advance!

LINEST and LINESTX are relatively new functions, you'll need to be on a recent version of Power BI Desktop. You'll need at least Jan / Feb 2023 I think.

@FMPE

There is a bug in the current version of PowerBI desktop I think where the intellisense shows the error but the functions still work.  It is mentioned in this video for SQLBI.

Ah, that's good to know. However, I think my issue might be slightly different, as I haven't been able to get the functions to work at all.

Ah, that's the issue! I assumed I had the newest version, but apparently my work hasn't yet cleared / set up that version for download. I should've just checked the version first, but think to check whether those were functions and/or whether I had an old verison.

Thank you!
