Snowflake OAuth + Import Mode Refresh Behavior
When using OAuth authentication with Snowflake and Import Mode datasets, does scheduled refresh always reuse the stored OAuth credential, or does it require periodic reauthentication?
For import mode datasets, the refresh will use the credentials that are specified by the owner of the report. It will use these until either the credentials change, or the report owner changes on the report. If the same owner re-publishes and overwrites the report it will keep the saved credentials as the owner hasn't changed.
Scheduled refresh does not require the user to reauthenticate manually each time. You may need to reauthenticate if one of the following occurs: refresh token expiration or revocation, credential reset in Power BI, OAuth policy changes in Snowflake.
