Snowflake Key pair authentication
Hi arinjayjain1013
KeyPair authentication in the Snowflake connector isn’t officially supported in Power BI yet.
The only documented options are username/password and Microsoft Entra ID (OAuth) so If you see KeyPair in the connector, it’s not GA and there’s no official announcement from Microsoft so far, for now, stick with the supported methods until Microsoft confirms otherwise.
Take a look at the official documentation: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/power-bi/connect-data/service-connect-snowflake
Did it work? 👍 A kudos would be appreciated

Hi DataVitalizer ,
Since it is available to use and is working fine, so it creates a sizeable concern whether it is available to general public or still is in preview mode.- DataVitalizer9 months agoSuper User
The KeyPair authentication option in the Power BI Snowflake connector has been released and is available for use, but Microsoft has not yet issued a clear announcement marking it as “general availability”, It appears to be quietly rolled out, so while it works, it may still be treated as a preview feature until official documentation confirms otherwise
