Small multiples with single select slicer

Hi

I have a year slicer and a stacked bar chart.

The year slicer is single select.

The requirement is that the stacked bar chart must show small multiples of the current year selected in the slicer and the prior year.

The small multiples are shown as a % of the GT (as below)

The problem is that when the slicer changes, the visual does not.

I tried using a Top N filter in an attempt to solve this but alas.

Any ideas on how to solve this ?

I have had a look at the pbix.

You've switched off 'edit interactions' from the slicer to the chart. I switched it back on and this will filter the chart by the slicer (to show the data of only the year selected). So I'm not sure if using a single select slicer will work for small multiples. That's a genuine "I don't know".  Maybe a disconnected table with year select (but, again, I don't know if that will work with small multiples feature.

What did work was making the Year slicer multi-select.  Looks like the data is correct with 2 years selected but I didn't delve too deeply.

I found the same thing that you did.

Switching off the interactions was intentional in order to show more years than was selected in the single select slicer.

I also tried a DAX table to return the required 2 years but they (DAX tables) seem to be rather limited in not being able to receive context transition when the slicer changes.

I could have then used that DAX table as my TOP N filter but no go. 

Lets hope there are some other ideas besides our findings at this point.
