Slow establish connection to source

I'm trying to refresh/ import new data from local sources like csv or Excel and both take like half an hour before connection is established. I hope this is not the new normal and something is wrong. Does someone know where I can find more information about this problem, or perhaps knows how to solve it? 

 

Fyi, connecting to our Oracle server is done in 1 minute.

    DouweMeer : Where are those (csv & Excel) files located? are they in our local computer or in a shared drive?

      Yes. Nice. 

      Since I complain here it is quick again. Should do that more often :).
