Slicer with Single Select not clearing Search box after selection is made - is this by design?

Hello,

I am hoping someone may have a reason or a workaround on Slicer with a single select option not clearning the search box after the selection is made.

Here is an example. I have a list of states, I use Search box typing 'AL' to quickly find the state I need. I select Alabama.

When I come back again to select another state, I'm by default limited to locations that have 'AL' in them from a previous search.

So I first have to delete what I was searching for previously and only then start typing a new search text.

Is there a way to automaticaly clear the search box after the seleciton is made? Does anyone know?

Seems like an extra step that needs to be done every time.

Thank you, all!

Hi @lobster729 ,

There is no direct functionality in the slicer to automatically clear the search box after selection.

If this functionality is important to you, you can provide your suggestions on Home (microsoft.com).

Alternatively, you can also use the eraser icon.

It doesn't seem like there is an Erase icon when only a single selection is allowed.

I understand that this isn't a feature that is available yet, so thank you for a quick response!
