Hello,
Does anyone know of any custom visual slicer which supports both Dropdown view and Forced selection?

Hi Prateek,
As far as I know, I'm afraid there isn't such a visual in the Visual Store for now. I would suggest you vote up these ideas. default-selected-slicer-or-tile-by-value-configura and slicer-default-selected-values.
If you can provide your goal, maybe we can find a workaround.
Best Regards,
Dale
In theory, there is a "force selection option" on the slicer
but it is currently not working, and if I understand the posts here, its been broken for at least a year.
My use case:
I have slicer A that filters the options of slicer B (but not the other way 'round). Slicer B is being filtered to the options I want, but none of them are "force selected", so everything else looks blank and awful. I am going back and forth between using a chiclet slicer instead (which does actually force select) or having a card under each chart that says "Please select from slicer B to view data". I started using PBI about 4 years ago and the chiclet slicer was the best option then and I am quite frankly surprised that it's still the best option now. I'd thought that Microsoft would see the value in the chiclet slicer and learn something.
Hi Prateek,
What is the "Forced selection"?

Dale
Hi @v-jiascu-msft,
It is a feature provided by Chiclet slicer which forces user to atleast keep one selection on slicer.
Here is a screenshot:

Hi @v-jiascu-msft,
I need to show a pair of slicers say Slicer A and Slicer B in which user chooses a Device Type from Slicer A and Device Model from Slicer B.
I have disbaled interaction from Slicer B to Slicer A.
So, when i choose a Device Type in Slicer A, it shows corresponding device models in slicer B.
After making selection in Slicer B, when i change my selection in Slicer A, the selection in Slicer B sticks to it instead of resetting it.
I need to somehow enable user to make smooth filtering experience with these two slicers. This expericene is achived in Chiclet slicer but unfortunately it doesn't have drop down view which is what i need 😞

Hi Prateek,
I'm afraid this behaviour is by design. The selection won't be cleared unless the user does it explicitly.

Dale
