Slicer that only shows single options within a Column with multiple options

I have a source file that includes a Product List column. In this column there is a list of all the products found within a given asset.

In a visual, I am trying to create a slicer that can filter for any one of these or more products as seen below.

So instead of showing all the product(s) in one long string for each row within that column, instead I want to see all the individual products separately.

Then when I choose one or more of those products, any row that includes those products will be shown.

Is there an easy way to do this?

I tried this one method but the slicer picks up some rows that don't have those selected options, while not showing some that may have it.  At this point, I am stumpped. Please advise.

If you are able to edit the source file, I'd suggest you to create an individual list of the products

For example:

Complex/System GroupProduct
TEP Central SystemNatural Gasoline
TEP Central SystemEthanol Denaturant
......
TEP Northern SystemNatural Gasoline
......

You can normalize the data with some tricks in Power BI, but I would recommend doing it on the source file.

After that you can use the individual list in the slicer.

Okay, I will try that and will post my findings. Thank you.

So I am looking at my main source file and I don't think I will be able to do it here. My source file is created in a way that it displays other information needed for each specific row.

I do have a separate source file that has the list of the asset and each product in different rows as your example shows but I don't know how I would then get the two source files to "talk" so that a filter can be used as I need it for the below visual.

Below are the other fields within the source file that is used to create this table. You can see the column that has grouped assets and then their Product column with all their applicable products. I would have to create numerous rows that will be one for each Product which will then not make how we want to visualize the table.  Not sure if I am making sense...

Indeed, you would need to have the SEG ID column in the other file, or a key that would allow you to create the relationship.

Even if you get the individual product list, you'll need to find a way to relate it with the rows from this table you are showing (as all of the products are, unfortunately, populated in the same cell).

That is was I thought but wasn't sure if there was a way around it by using the existing column within the same source file (Products Column) to create the slicer I need without having to bring in another table. That is what we sort of created but then it doesn't work 100%.

Thank you for your time and input.
