Slicer sorted by date

So I have a sheet that collects project updates... 3 columns - Project Name, Note, Date Entered

I'd like to have a slicer to select projects by name but have the projects ordered based on date entered - a project with the most recently entered note would be at the top.

Any suggestions on how I might approach this?

  • Hi Jartiv,

By my test, you could follow the steps to get what you want.

    1. Go to Date view——Modeling——Click Product Name ——Sort by Column——Date

    2. Go to Report View——Create the Slicer with Product Name.

    Hope it can help you!:smileytongue:

    Best Regards,

    Cherry

  • Hello,

usually the slicer sorts by the value in the column you slice. Meaning, text slicers should be ordered alphabetically on default.

You also can sort them by another column if you want a different order.

Sorting in the editor doesn't affect the order in your PivotTable. Please just give it a try and add a slicer for Project Name.

      It should be ordered alphabetically.
