Slicer not updating card value

I am very new to PowerBI, so please bear with me.

I have a card to calculate the sum of net income, one of the fields on my table. I also have a slicer that filters by territory. The table filters correctly when I use the slicer, but the card does not. It only shows the sum of all net income, rather than filtering by territory. I have checked to make sure that the slicer is filtering the card, but the number won't update. I have also tried filtering the card directly in the filter pane, but it doesn't update the number. Please see screenshots below.

How can I get the filter in the slicer to actually apply to the card? 

And as a bonus, how to I get the card value to display the full number rather than the way it is displayed now?

Are the field [Territory] and [Net Income] from the same table? If they come from different table, is there any relationship created between the tables? Please provide the related info...

And if you want to show the full number of value in the card visual, you can select the card visual and navigate to Format pane to set the option "Display Units" as "None" just like the one in the below screenshot...

Those two fields are from different tables, but the two tables are related by Company Name.

Is there any other tables in your model except these two tables? According to the result, it seems the data on the visual can't be filtered by the selected terriorities. So we need to find any possible condition/relationship to filter the data base on territory slicer...

In order to make a deep troubleshooting and give you a suitable solution, could you please provide some sample data(exclude sensitive data) in your model tables with Text format and the relationship info among tables? It is better if you can share a simplified pbix file. I didn't write a measure. I am just using the field on the card visualization. Maybe that is what I'm doing wrong?
