Slicer - horizontal / vertical selection is missing

I've received an example power bi file, where I can select the slicer either as horizontal or vertical. Now I tried to apply this in my own file, but the selection option is missing. I already tried ...

    Baerbel make sure your slicer is drop-down, not list or anything else, and then you will see orientation setting in the general section in the format pane.
