Slicer does not work when merge queries.

Hi. I have created one page using table A, and I want to use Month slicer for that page.
But I don't have Month column on Table A.

So I merged Month column from Table B. Table A and B are related by many-to-many relationship. But my problem is the Month slicer still wont work for that page. Is there any other suggestions for me?

Hi, @Anonymous

If you want to use PAC_ALIAS and Month to filter two charts in your report at the same time, for the data in pbix file you provided, it seems that it is impossible. Have you made any modifications based on the relevant pbix files you provided, can you provide a new sample removing sensitive information?

Best Regards,

@Anonymous ,  Does A has any date column of any column which tell month to work with.

Second. How A and B are related. Can we move date/month from B to A as a new column, instead of many to many join

@Anonymous others have already provided the solution, did you tried those? If not, can you make sure to test the existing solution, if you already tried then what was the end result? Did it work?

@Anonymous  It sounds to me like maybe you don't have a common date table in your model? If that's the case I would highly recommend using one.

That would allow you to relate both table A and B to the common date table with one-to-many relationships, and then use the Month from the date table for filtering both tables.

@Anonymous I'm taking a look at the .pbix that you shared in that thread and to be honest your model isn't making a whole lot of sense to me.

If your "by well" table (which I'm assuming is the "Table A" you're referring to) doesn't contain data at the Month granularity (only by Year), what exactly are you expecting to happen when you filter it by a Month?

@Anonymous, not a standard practice, what is done in relationship diagram, does it shows table b -> filter table a, you should see this on Relationship windows. Share the image here.
