Slicer based on multiple columns

Hi,

I have a list of agencies belonging to 7 different types. In my report, I want to filter my graph by selecting one of the types of agency.

But my problem is that an agency can belong to multiple types. How can I make a slicer or what kind of slicer do I need?

In attachtment an example of how my data looks.

Thanks for thinking about it!

  • Hi S_D,

In that case, I'm afraid your requirement cannot be achieved. Because we can only add a column into slicer, all slicer items that we can choose are deatiled values belong to this column. If we don't unpivot the table structure to convert agency type into rows, we are not able to filter agency type.

    Hi S_D,

You should unpivot this table in Query Editor mode. Rename the new created field name. Then, you can drag column [AgencyType] into slicer.

      Hi,

That's a solution for making the slicer, but now I have duplicate records. For example, the column income has sometimes multiple records for one agency. So, the total sum of income will not be correct of I set the slicer to "all", it wil only be correct if a select an agency.
