Slicer Not Filtering Table Visual

Hi all,

I have two tables:

Date Table:

Date column ranges from 08/01/2024 12:00:00 AM to 12/04/2024 12:00:00 AM.
Log Table:

StreamingStartTimeUTC column with the same range and format.
I’ve established a relationship between Date and StreamingStartTimeUTC, and both columns have the same data type (Date/Time).

However, when I use Date in a slicer and StreamingStartTimeUTC in a table visual, the slicer doesn’t filter the visual.

I’ve verified the relationship, data types, and formats.

    Hello prabavathym ,

     

    What I think that the date and time should be seperated and the dim date should be date and the date column should be date as well in the fact.

     

    if you want to filter by time, then you need to have a dim time table that links to the seperated time field.

      Thank you for your response! Could you kindly clarify how to proceed with separating the Date and Time fields in the suggested way?
      I already have distinct DateTime columns in my tables, but I’m unsure how to set up the relationships and create a Dim Time Table.

    Hi prabavathym ,

     

    I noticed that you're using the Date/Time (UTC) column in the Slicer, but you're using the StreamingStratTime column in the table visual. They are two columns from different tables, and relationships need to be created between the tables to enable filtering.

     

    Depending on the date columns of the two tables, try to create a "one-to-one" or "many-to-many" relationship. If the problem persists, provide a PBIX file (no sensitive data). At the moment, I can't reproduce this issue based on the information you provided.

      Thank you for your response! I’ve already created a relationship between the Date and StreamingStartTimeUTC columns. However, the slicer still doesn’t filter the table visual.

      I’ll double-check the relationship type and try creating a "one-to-one" or "many-to-many" relationship as you suggested. If the issue persists, I’ll share a PBIX file without sensitive data for further investigation.
