Slicer: Call text values from different columns using slicer and populate top results (text value)

Hello,

Can anyone help with solution to below problem:

  1. I need to create a slicer where I need to call headers of 3 different columns i.e. Country, State & Region.
  2. With each column I have to populate pie chart with top 5 values of country, state & region (under single pie)
  3. Above should show respective column value(s) when a selection is made from the slicer. e.g. If i select Country from the slicer, the pie chart should populate results of top 5 countries, if i select State from the slicer, the pie chart should populate results of top 5 states and similarly for Region.

Thanks!

Hi @rudra_deep,

Based on my test, you could refer to below steps:

1.Create 3 pie visuals(filtered by top 5) and three buttons.

1.PNG

2.Use the "Select Pane" function and "Bookmarks Pane" function to create different bookmark to view different pie chart.

2.PNG

3.Set the button action to link to different bookmark. Now you could use the Ctrl+click to see differnt pie chart.

4.PNG

You could refer to this blog:http://radacad.com/bookmarks-and-buttons-making-power-bi-charts-even-more-interactive

And you could also download the pbix file to have a view.

Thank you @v-danhe-msft, This is a good solution and I am currently using bookmarks to call values from different table. Actually, I am exploring options to create a slicer using parameters that can call values from respective columns. Our dashboards are live and it takes more time to create and format bookmarks whenever there is an immediate requirement.

Hi @rudra_deep,
