Single Date - Date Picker for Power BI Desktop

G'Day Everyone,

We are going crazy trying to find a single data picker for Power BI. There seems to be heaps of ability for a date range but not for a single date picker. Has anyone had similar issues and will this be resolved in the next Power BI Desktop edition?

I had the same issue with finding a single date picker in Power BI. The workaround I created was to use a date slicer with the "Style: Before" setting, then cover the start date with a text box. For the visuals, I applied the same date with Top 1 by value of that Date, ensuring only one date is selected. This method effectively creates a single date picker functionality. Hope this helps with your situation.

Thanks everyone. I think we have resigned to the fact that we cannot use a date picker for a single date. I have put this in the bucket list for an idea for the Microsoft team.

What we are looking for is a calendar control to select a single date. We do not want a date list. Is that possible?

If you only want a single date calendar box to select a date, I'm afraid you can't do it now. But you can pick the same date in both date calendar boxes like I did above.

The implied range of this option causes confusion and dissatisfcation among our end users, who are used to being able to do it in SSRS. Is there any update on when this will be available?

Hi @JRBBI ,

Not sure what you mean by single date picker, if you mean select a single date in the date slicer, you can choose List or Dropdown slicer type.

Or choose a Between type and directly enter the desired date in the date box.

Ideally we want a calendar control to pick a single date. Use case: Picking a single date to analyse by, or as-at date for financial reports.
