Show hide buttons based on data

I've been reading a ton of posts on this topic, and can't quite tell if there's a solution or not, so I'll try one of my own: I need to be able to show/hide buttons (presumably using bookmarks, selection pane, etc.) based on data, not on a toggle button. In other words, the user doesn't interact to make this happen, it needs to be based solely on the data.

For example, we have a user_id table with a column for standard or premium. If the user is a premium user, then our button would take them to another page which offers visuals which only a premium user can see.

So here's a simple look at a test I'm doing. We have two users to choose from, one of them is premium and one is standard. If we choose the premium one, we only want to see the premium bookmark, which points to the premium page. If the other user (standard) is chosen, we want to point to the standard page:

I found this thread which near the end on page 2, describes that it can be done in this way: "If your slicer has only minimum values say 2 to 5, then you can assign these values statically for buttons or images and play around with this." The thread is here: https://community.powerbi.com/t5/Desktop/How-to-hide-a-visual-based-on-slicer/td-p/384158/highlight/...

The problem is that I can't figure out how to "assign these values statically". Does anyone know if this can in fact be done?

Hi @Anonymous ,

If you want to jump report page using bookmarket on a buttom, Sorry for that, but I also not found an effective solution to achieve your requirement, perhaps you can submit the requirement to ideas: https://ideas.powerbi.com/forums/265200-power-bi-ideas

Hello @Anonymous

with this trick you can hide visuals like a button.
Another way is unfortunately not known to me.

If this post was helpful may I ask you to mark it as solution and give it some kudos?

Have a nice day!

Hi there

Sorry for replying many years later.
But I am i a situation where I need this as well. But to me it does not seem to work on Button/Shape visual. The Filters pane, does not give the option: "Filters on this visual"..

Is there any solution for this since we are now in 2023? I want to show a button based on a measure value (lets say true og 1) and then hide it based on false/0. This button should be used to generate the user to a bookmark, but only if the measure allows it.
