Show a measure trend over time

Hey all,

I'm looking to have a line and column chart show Volume (bars) against Self Service % (a measure) over time.

This is the measure I have right now:

me_Self Service % = (CALCULATE(COUNTROWS('Sheet 1'), 'Sheet 1'[CALL_RESULT]="Self Served"))/
COUNTROWS('Sheet 1')

With this measure, when I put the measure into a chart over time, it's using the full count of rows every day as the denominator instead of just that day's rows.  How do I show the actual % of the day vs. % of total over time?

Thank you all for your help.

It turns out, I'm just a little bit slow and I had clicked Column not Measure.  As soon as I changed it to a measure it worked fine, no Date table needed if you use your date column as a hierarchy.

Thanks again.

Hi @HansTheEnforcer ,

If you want the denominator to be the total number of the whole table, you could use ALL() or ALLSELECTED() function. Then use date column as x-axis to show the whole process.

Make sure you had date dimension and create a previous day measure and take diff

To get the best of the time intelligence function. Make sure you have a date calendar and it has been marked as the date in model view. Also, join it with the date column of your fact/s. Refer :

Hi,

Your measure is correct.  There is definitely a problem with the relationships.  There should be a relationship from the Date column of your Data Table to the Date column of your Calendar Table.  To your visual, drag the date column from your Calendar Table.

Hope this helps.

Hi @HansTheEnforcer ,

Please try to use below measure, if it doesn't work either, please show some sample data you have, so I can know your data model.

me_Self Service % = (CALCULATE(COUNTROWS('Sheet 1'), 'Sheet 1'[CALL_RESULT]="Self Served"))/
calculate(COUNTROWS('Sheet 1'))
