Show Non-Image PDF Attachments from SharePoint List in Power BI Report and Link to Open them
Hi all,
I have a SharePoint list with a PowerApps form enabling users to create new items and edit existing ones. One of the fields in the PowerApps based form alows users to upload attachments.
In my Power BI report, I am ingesting this SharePoint list so that the fields display in the report and can be shared with others. I would also like to list any uploaded attachments, which are not images but usually pdfs etc., and allow the user to click on them to open them.
There are bits and pieces out there on doing this. Notably, there is lots on integrating with SharePoint list data, but little on dealing with non-image attachments.
This video shows how you can achieve a workaround. However, I do not get a 'Content Type ID' column imported as part of my SharePoint list, just 'Content Type', which is labeled as 'item' for everything.
How can I achieve this? Is there a workaround? Would it be better to save these documents into a specific location and can PowerApps do this with some ID reference that can be easily associated with the list item when Power BI merges attachment to list item in the report?
