Sharepoint won't conntect to gateway

My company recently merged which meant we had to migrate the old power bi report which includes a sharepoint site. When i try to connect the sharepoint to the gateway it is coming up with the old URL - When i try to create a new connection with the new URL it creates a connection but i'm not able to connect it the the gateway. Any suggestions please?

How many data sources were included in your old report? Or is SharePoint the only datasource? SharePoint is a cloud datasource, the gateway is not required. As for your comment that you can't see the new URL on the gateway side when you connect to it using the new URL. Could you please explain how did you connect to SharePint with the new URL in Power BI Desktop and provide some screenshots of it in Service to illustrate the problem? Did you republish the report to Service? Thank you.
