Sharepoint Source Refresh Issue after adding 2nd Sharepoint Directory
Hello!
Was able to successfully create a report that used a single Excel file on Sharepoint. Published it to the cloud and found it refreshed automatically without issue. Needed to add a second Sharepoint file (located in another Sharepoint directory) that contains different info. After doing so the refresh stopped working. What's curious is that it stopped working in another report that still only refers to the first Sharepoint file - with daily refreshes producing the following error.
The source credentials for the first file refers to the specific Sharepoint folder. Though, I'm getting the feeling that PowerBI may be accessing the (second) new folder and hence producing the key error (a wild guess...)? Any ideas why this may be happening?
Thanks!
Chris
Hello Ibendlin!
Your initial advice to "clean up the queries" was correct. After trying different ways to define SOURCE and create credentials, it occurred to me to check the Sharepoint directories to confirm contents. Turned out there were 2 files in the first directory.
Originally, I had uploaded the second file to the first Teams site. Then decided to create a different Teams site with different security access so users could update the file themselves. What I didn't know is that when I deleted the second file in the first Teams site, the delete did not carry through to Sharepoint. That was quite a surprise - and an important thing to know for many reasons besides building reports. After deleting the second file in first SharePoint folder, the PowerBI report worked.
Thanks your help!
Chris

While that may play a role you will first want to correct the issue in your Power Query that caused the error message.

Thanks for replying Ibendlin!
That's the problem, I can't properly change the source. After adding the second query, the query is listing 2 files from 2 different folders - eventhough I specified the correct folder. I only want the second file. In addition, the contents from that file. I think the missing key issue is because the report thinks that the file list are the records.
