Yesterday I installed the March 2018 version (2,56,5023,942 64-bit) of Power BI Desktop, updating from February 2018 (2.55.5010.641 64-bit). Since then, Sharepoint.Files returns Error for many dates, since the sharepoint locale is "en-US" on my desktop's is "nl-BE".
Uninstalling PowerBI Desktop and installing the February 2018 release re-resolved the issue.
Somehow, this is related to a post in the middle of last year, but until now it returned text that we could transform to an appropriate date and time using the command.
