SharePoint list as delegated admin

Hi

I'm trying to connect to a SharePoint list that exists in the SharePoint Online site that we are managing for a client as a Partner Admin.

So I can sign in as me@mydomain.com and get access to their site theirdomain.sharepoint.com with full admin rights. However, when I select the SharePoint list data source in Power BI desktop and sign in with my organisational account, it tells me "The user was not authorized". The same happens if I use an odata feed to connect to the listdata.svc page.

So, can anyone confirm if it should be possible as a Partner Admin to connect to SharePoint lists in Power BI desktop, or do I need to do it as a user attached to their organisation?

To clarify, as me@mydomain.com I can access https://theirdomain.sharepoint.com/sites/their_site/_vti_bin/listdata.svc and https://theirdomain.sharepoint.com/sites/their_site/_api/web/lists without issue via a browser. It's only when using Power BI desktop that the problem occurs. I guess it might be an oauth issue somewhere, but I've no idea where to even start.
