Shape map - topojson projection error

Dear community,

I keep on getting misprojections of my topojson filles. I have downloaded the TDWG level 1 geojson file and converted it to topojson using mapshaper. The original file was downloaded here https://github.com/tdwg/wgsrpd/blob/master/geojson/level1.geojson. Both the geojson and topojson look fine in QGIS. However, when I import the topojson as shape map the maps get wrongly projected. I am facing this problem with more files. What am I doing wrong?

    Hi nielsraes

First from you screenshot, it is not clear what's problem you meet.

    Could you kindly clear me?

What is your data in your data model? could you share this with me so i can make a test as you did?

You could refer to this similar thread how to use shape map succefully

Download the file provided by v-qiuyu-msft to see what is a succeful shape map pbix file.

The topojson should be added in the "format" field as above instead of importing as a data source.

    Best Regards

    Maggie

      Dear Maggie v-juanli-msft ,

Thanks for your reply. The problem is that the map is shifted/rotated to the left, the lower left corner is not longer -180, -90 but something like -160, -90. The missing section is inserted at the right side of the map (see vertical line in the polygon). I also used the IHO3 Sea Areas http://www.marineregions.org/sources.php and that is far worse than this map. I cannot figure out why the projection is changed when imported in Power BI? And I seem unable to fix this problem. Any help is welcome.

      Best, Niels

    Hi all,

reading your thread carefully and was already able to get rid of the "picasso". Now I am dealing with this:

Seems like there is something wrong with the projection in the .shp or topojson, I have tried to change the CRS with QGIS but I cannot solve this issue. Would anyone have a hint for me?

    Many thanks
