Setting table tooltips without using custom tooltip

I have a table in my report that has about 10 columns. I've enabled tooltips but for some reason the tooltip has the values of the first three columns and the value of the cell that is being hovered over. Columns 2 & 3 are irrelevant for the tooltip so I would like the tooltip to only show the value of the first column and the value of the cell being hovered over. Is there a way to do this without creating a custom tooltip?

So I have this:

But I want this:

I'm confused as to why the default is including the first three columns, seems very random.

TIA.

@mbowler , we do not have the option to customize the default tooltip, You have to use the report tooltip page

Ok, thanks. But why does it default to the first three columns? That's very random, wouldn't just the first column be better as a default?
