Hi,
I have a table of data which i have brought into BI. I would like one of these rows to be a %. Is there a way of reformatting a row? All i can see is how to reformat a column so im wondering whether to change the entire format of my file.
Hi @Eva1 ,
Just as what @PhilipTreacy mentioned, formatting is by columns in Power BI.
Could you show more details or create a smaple for me and let's check if there are any workaround for your scenario?

Hi
Its really simple, so it would be
Revenue
Cost of sales
Gross Profit
Gross Margin = Gross profit / Revenue as a %
This last row is the one i need. I have all the metrics over a number of years so can arrange it accordingly. There is a youtube video https://exceleratorbi.com.au/build-a-pl-with-power-bi/
However i find it quite complicated when it comes to writing the code. Is there a simpler work round.
Hi @Eva1
So you are after a P&L showing a percentage? That's a different question to what you originally asked.
I'm not sure I can explain it any better than Matt has done in his blog post and video.
Without any source data it's even harder to code anything. Please always supply sample data.

Hi Phil
So i have the calculation in my data file for the gross margin, so its there in power BI but it just remains as a decimal. I thought to include revenue and profit as a column but where i get unstuck is adjusting my formula to pick these up
Hi @Eva1
Formatting is by columns, not rows so you can't do what you are asking.
