Set PBI Desktop to UTC Timezone

We pull in NoTimeZone and Timezone type fields from different systems, but PBI converts TZ fields into Local Time (computer time). Works fine on Service because 'local time' on Service is UTC.

Is there a way to tell PBI to use UTC as local time without having my computer in UTC time? Or a way to tell it to not convert any DateTimes?

  • You can do the latter in the Power Query settings. Tell Power BI Desktop not to attempt any inferred column type conversions

Where do I set that in the Power Query Editor? I'm not seeing an option for "Dont do column conversions"

Here's what I see if I input the date as Text:

Then if PBI converts to Date/Time

Because the "Current" one is Time Zulu, PBI then converts it to my local time (MST) when I don't want it to do any conversions. I want it to display in Zulu/UTC time on PBI Desktop.
