4 years agoSeparating column with comma delimited values
I have a column in a table that can have multiple values merged into a single cell and the values separated by comma. I would like to convert each number in the cell into separate rows, with each row ideally repeating. Below is a sample table and my desired outcome:
Sample:
| Name | Number |
| Jane | 1001, 1002 |
| Jules | 1003 |
| Adam | 1004, 1005,1006 |
Desired:
| Name | Number |
| Jane | 1001 |
| Jane | 1002 |
| Jules | 1003 |
| Adam | 1004 |
| Adam | 1005 |
| Adam | 1006 |
In Power Query you can select the column and use "split by delimiter", that will do exactly what you're looking for
