I have a PBIX file that is my semantic model. I want to send it to myself (outside the organisation)
As it will leave 'work' environment to go to home environment I do not want any data in there at all. But i do want the design layout - Joins and all of the data objects.
This is basically for doing translations and sending it back. I have access to Translation builder outside of work environment.
This will also be usfull for when I ask for help.
Thanks
think beacuse this is direct query it is trying to fire the query each time
Hi! If you have Tabular Editor 2 you can use that to connect to the model in Power BI service and you can edit the model without having the data.

That only works if I have access to the model which I dont when I am not on my work account.
This is so I can ship the model out of the organnization and have translations added or get additional support.
I want it to go without data as I dont want the organisations data to leave the organisation.
I am looking at shippin the model with no data but retaining meta data (i.e. structure)
Hi @ells69 -you can disabled data for each table in the Power Query Editor, right-click on the table name and uncheck Enable Load. This ensures that the data from this query is not loaded into the data model.Repeat this process for every table in your model. After disabling loading for all tables, click Close & Apply. This will apply the changes to your Power BI file and remove all data, but will retain the structure, relationships, and model design.
Save the PBIX file. At this point, the file will no longer contain data but will still have all the tables, relationships, and measures that are part of your semantic model.
You can double-check that no data exists by looking at the data view. It should be empty, but the structure will be intact.
You can now send this PBIX file via email or any other method. Since it contains no data, it should be safe to share outside your organization.
Hope the above information helps

Unchecked enable load.
Now when I look in the PBI I can see nothing in the report view, data view or model view. All of the dimensions and facts have just disappeared.
If I open Tabular editor the same.
I just see the model in tabular editor and thats it
