Semantic model refreshes but the reports do not

Hi PBI Community.

I have a report whose semantic model refreshes daily on a schedule that I have set.  I have reveiwed the refresh schedule and no errors have been reported.  I also have received no refresh errors via email.  My data source is OData and that schedule is running without error as well.

The problem is the customer facing reports are not refreshing after the semantic model updates and seems to be about 24 hours behind, or I need to manually push another refresh to the semantic model and then refresh the reports when that job is completed.

Can someone provide some guidance as to how this can be corrected?  So that the automated refresh actually refreshes.

Thank you

A semantic model refresh doesn't care if the data is actually "fresh"  or not. It will happily refresh stale data over and over if you tell it to do so.

Most likely this is a timing issue where you run the refresh before the source system has been fully updated.

Hi, @eeh2os

Make sure your data gateway is up-to-date and functional. Sometimes, an outdated gateway can cause refresh issues. Also make sure that your OData data source credentials are configured correctly and haven't expired. You can learn more about refresh troubleshooting:

Go back to your data source (the data source being used by Power BI and not necessarily the actual system). Most likely, that source hasn't updated. Power BI will pick whatever is in the data source.

I double and triple checked all report run and refresh timing.  I tried moving the refresh time to later in the day since this job was among other large jobs and it seems to have worked.  I appreciate all of the support, thank you.
