I'm not sure if this is a wider known issue, or if I'm just being a little silly but since the latest desktop update, the 'Selected Visuals' option doesn't appear to be working on my bookmarks.
I have two bookmarks, one that shows the absolute values on a page and one that shows the relative values on a page. All my visuals are affected by a slicer at the top of the page (location selection). All my bookmarks are set to 'Selected Visuals' which meant that changing the location slicer carried over to both the absolute/relative bookmarks. However, since the update the to Power BI desktop, these no longer work. My bookmarks work when using the 'All Visuals' option, but not when I use the 'Selected Visuals' option. Instead, these just retain the value of the first bookmark view I set and I'm not quite sure what has gone wrong. This is an issue on both new reports and old reports, but I'm struggling to find anything on Microsoft's known issues.
Is anyone experiencing either a) the same issue or b) does anyone have a workaround for this issue?
Thanks!

Hi @gracecharlton ,
Thank you for reaching out to the Microsoft Community Forum.
Please follow below steps to fix the issue.
1. Duplicate the page.
2. On the duplicate, Open Selection pane --> create two Groups: “Absolute” and “Relative”. Place your visuals into the appropriate group; set the visibility (eye icon) so only one group is visible per state.
3. Create two bookmarks, Bookmark: Absolute --> visibility: Absolute group On, Relative Off; set All visuals and turn OFF Data.
Bookmark: Relative --> visibility: Relative On, Absolute Off; All visuals, Data OFF.
4. Wire buttons to these bookmarks and test: change the Location slicer, toggle Absolute/Relative, the slicer should remain intact and the layout should switch correctly.
5. If you must use Selected visuals for very granular toggles, include the slicer in the selection when updating each bookmark, and update both bookmarks after any slicer formatting or layout change.
Note: Bookmarks are snapshots of page state (layout/visibility + filter/slicer states). When Selected visuals is glitchy (post‑update), the bookmark may retain the first captured state and not properly apply subsequent changes especially around slicers.

Hi @gracecharlton ,
Can you try below steps:
If this doesnt work, try recreating the booksmarks and verify.
please give kudos or mark it as solution once confirmed.
Thanks and Regards,
praful
1️⃣ Use “All Visuals” temporarily
Not ideal, but ensures slicers work as expected.
Bookmark will capture all visuals’ state, so slicer interactions will persist.
---
2️⃣ Recreate bookmarks after the update
Sometimes the Selected Visuals bug is due to old bookmark metadata.
Steps:
1. Delete the old bookmark.
2. Select the visuals you want to include.
3. Recreate the bookmark using Selected Visuals.
4. Test slicer interaction.
> Many users report this fixes issues caused by the update.
---
3️⃣ Use Sync slicers instead of relying on bookmarks for slicer state
If slicers need to always affect multiple visuals, syncing slicers across pages may be more reliable than bookmarks.
---
4️⃣ File a bug / check Power BI release notes
Go to Help → About → Release Notes to see if there is a documented issue.
Report via Power BI Community / Support if not listed.
If this solution helped you, please mark it as the accepted answer so it can help others as well.
Hii @gracecharlton
This behaviour is happening for many users after the latest Desktop update. The issue is not with your report; it’s a Power BI bug affecting the “Selected Visuals” bookmark mode. Microsoft has not published it on the Known Issues page yet, but multiple users have confirmed the same problem. Until Microsoft fixes it, the only stable workaround is to use “All Visuals” or create the bookmarks in an earlier Desktop version.
