Hello,
I've encountered a question related to relationships and data filtering within Power BI. In particular, my inquiry pertains to the interaction between an Item Table and a Facility Table.
As I constructed a concise report in Power BI, I encountered a challenge. I found it problematic to filter the list of Items when selecting a Facility, and vice versa. To address this, I ended up creating an additional table labeled "ItemFacility." This table houses a comprehensive listing of all facilities along with their corresponding associated items.
In order to establish the desired connections, I introduced a bidirectional relationship between my ItemFacility and Item tables. This allowed the automatic filtration of associated items upon selecting a facility using the Item Slicer. However, I have encountered a discrepancy. When I attempt the reverse scenario, selecting an item, the associated facilities fail to display.
Interestingly, I discovered that by altering the direction of the bidirectional flow between ItemFacility and Facility, I am able to successfully filter facilities when selecting items. Regrettably, this adjustment leads to the issue where facilities do not get filtered when selecting them.
I am reaching out in the hopes of finding a solution that accommodates both scenarios. Attached for your reference are a few images that I believe will aid in clarifying the situation.
Thank you for your time and assistance.
Hello @Money421
Thanks for explaining it so effectively.
I belive if you turn on the bi-directional filtering on the item and itemfacility table also, you could achieve your goal.
Let me know if you need some more help or clarification on this.

If I remove the bi-directional filtering on the item and itemfacility table then it doesn't work both ways now.
Hello @Money421
Can you turn on the bi-directional for item to facility_item and facility to facility_item, which will alow you to filter item to facility and visa versa.
