Security and update
I have seen that the Power BI application for Windows will stop working after December 31, 2023. From that date, it will no longer receive any security updates or other updates, nor will it receive fixes for issues or assistance from the support team. Microsoft will also remove the Power BI application for Windows from its app store.
This change only applies to the Power BI application for Windows. It does not affect the Power BI Desktop application.
However, do these changes affect the version I am using: Microsoft Power BI Desktop (Optimized for Power BI Report Server - September 2023)?

I want to acknowledge valuable input provided by amitchandak . Their initial ideas help guide my approach. However, I noticed that more details are needed to fully understand this issue.
The announced discontinuation of the Power BI Windows app does not affect the Power BI Desktop app, including versions optimized for Power BI Report Server. The September 2023 version of Power BI Desktop (optimized for Power BI Report Server) will be supported until September 2024. This includes receiving security and critical updates to ensure the application remains secure and functioning properly.For the support timeline of Power BI Report Server, please refer to the document: SSupport timeline for Power BI Report Server - Power BI | Microsoft Learn.

saadrabeb , Power BI Desktop regular is still getting monthly releases. The last one was released on March 2024
