Do you mean schedule refresh? You can schedule refresh by setting up gateways.

jarmijo  There is no such thing as a scheduled update but if you talking about the update notification. You need to have admin right to install/update power bi desktop on your machine. If in an organisation, most likely to have restricted access then you might need to admin to add latest version of Power bi to your Application catelog and you can install it from there. Hope this helps
