Post PartisanScheduled refresh via onedrive problem
Hello all,
I have a problem and I don't know exactly how I can solve it.
One of my data sources is an Excel file which is located in a OneDrive folder. I have been able to set up the gateway and connect it to the web address for the Excel file. I am using a daily refresh which works fine. However, after a few days, I will receive a refresh error saying 'invalid connection credentials'. To solve this I simply need to go to the gateway settings for this source and click "edit credentials", then click the 0Auth authentication method and re-login / re-authenticate. After that, it will work again for a few days.
Can anyone explain to me why this is happening and how I can better approach this situation to have it automatically refreshed via OneDrive?

DeBIe , for one drive it should even work without on-premise gateway.
Make sure on premise gateway is up and running all the time.
Does it happen even when the gateway is always online?

Yes, the gateway is always online. It takes care of refreshing lots of other data sources as well so it must be always online. At my work, I work with a local machine and a dev machine as well. It happens every now and then that I need to re-login or re-authenticate when using Microsoft products. Maybe it has something to do with that?

Hi DeBIe ,
As far as I know, connecting files on onedrive does not require a gateway.
If a mashup query merges or appends data from on-premises and cloud sources, Power BI switches to the gateway connection even for the cloud sources.

I have added the Excel file as a WEB datatype and filled in the path for the excel file. However, I can't refresh the dataset because it tells me I need to add the source to gateway. How is it possible to use without gateway?
