Ok, so lets I have a dataset where each row corresponds to a sale and there is a date value associated with each sale, multiple sales per day of course. What I want to do is plot date on the x axis and sales on the y axis and have a data point for each individual non-aggregated sale at the row level. So for example for 9/20/2017 on the x axis, I would have a data point on each sales value which corresponds to an individual row. I don't know that there is any way to do this with the default scatter chart object available in Power BI. Is there another custom visualization available for download which would allow me to do this? Thanks.

Hey,
my favorite visual is the "Dot Plot by MAQ Software", that you can download from the store.
Here is a very simple example
Hope this is what you are looking for

Thanks a lot, this is exactly what I was looking for.
Another question though, is there a way you can do analytics on this, like adding a median line, trend line, etc.? If not, is there another visualization that would let you do this?
Hello @Anonymous,
Glad to hear that you are using 'Dot Plot by MAQ Software'.
For analytics of the data, you can use 'Box and Whisker by MAQ Software' - https://appsource.microsoft.com/en-us/product/power-bi-visuals/WA104381351
Apart from plotting points, it also provides median, mean, standard deviation, quartile deviation, and many more.
The user guide for Box and Whisker can be downloaded from - https://github.com/maqsoftware/PowerBI-visuals/blob/master/documents/Published/Box%20and%20Whisker/Box%20and%20Whisker%20User%20Guide.docx
We can also be reached at support@maqsoftware.com
Thanks!!
Hi,
This is quite an old post. But I was wondering...
I have this scatter plot where I would really really like to display x-axis as date. I am trying to do this with Dot Plot by MAQ Software, however, when I have two or more data points on the same date it summarizes those. Is it possible to display all datapoints instead of summarizing?
