Good day all,
I am newish to Power BI but have been using computers since the TRS-80 Model 1 with 4kb of RAM.
And I have been using office since the MS-DOS days.
SO.. What am I missing here (see below)?
Thanks in advance for reading this post, and hopefull giving me some insight!
I have a data set, 2 columns
About 4750 lines of data.
for refrerence, the data spans 4 weeks (the pattern of weekday vs weekend becomes apparent in the excel chart)
In Excel, when creating a scatter plot I see the entire data set. That is to say, excel displays the full series along the X-Axis, visualizing the full data set in one chart.
In Power BI, with the same data I get a slider control at the bottom, which defeats the purpose of showing the patterns.
Additionally, Power BI will not accept an X-Axis which is TIME AND an unsummarized Y-Axis, which Excel handles with grace.
What am I missing???
This seems like a very basic thing that Excel mastered decades ago...
Am I doing it 'Wrong'?

Hi @AlbertLotito ,
I am not sure, if this can be done with native Power BI visuals. Let the experts comment about it.
If you find that Power BI native visuals are not able to help you with, Microsoft has generously provided its marketplace at appsource.microsoft.com to enrich functionality of its products. There you can find multiple custom visuals that can help you with.
One such visual that I feel may be helpful to you could be bubble chart . Please give it a try.
Thanks,
-Radhey
Hello,
Thankyou for the suggestion.
I have tried the Bubble Chart and the problmes are the similar.
I have also tried the 'High Density' Option.
I also tested various scatter plots from the market place, with similar results.
It is very frustrating that this is a problem Microsoft solved more than a decade ago in Excel, but can not bring the same solutino to Power BI.
Thanks,
Albert.
Hi @AlbertLotito ,
Please send me a sample pbix file and let me try it for you. If I gain success, I shall let you know (tomorrow).
Shared data link requires a password which I do not have.
Thank you for offering to work on it.
