Scatter Plot - How can i show the legend on the data labels rather than the category name

Hi,

Capture.PNG

I have a scatter chart shown below where:

x = average rating

y = yield

I filter by industry to select only the Building Materials category

The legend is the name of the asset

From other posts on this forum, it seems that to show data labels, I needed to turn on Display Cagtegory Labels. However, when I do this it shows the overall category label. I actually want to show the legend values at each data point.

How can I do this?

Hi, @Anonymous

Based on your description, I created data to reproduce your scenario. The pbix file is attached in the end.

Test:

You may try puting "Category" and 'Sub Category' fields in 'Details' and then turn on 'Display Cagtegory Labels'. Both 'Category' and 'Sub Category' fields will display the corresponding label in the visual.

Hi Allan,

This doesn't seem to be working for me but I didn't provide much info on the underlying data so I've provided an example of my data below.

I need to choose one category in the [Ind Group] field, in this case Building Materials. I want to use [Ticker] to label the scatter data points.

If I put [Ticker] in Details, the graph reqires me to sum or remove Details.

How can I get [Ticker] in the Details whilst specifying a particular category in the [Ind Group] field?

Actually, I just tried specifying sum for the X and Y axis. Doesn't actually change the plot since there is nothing to sum but it now shows everything as specified.
