Save latest month as a default filter

You can achieve your requirement by creating calculated column like below so it will show only latest value in your slicer. I hope I am getting right from your question. Is it something differ from my understanding so please let me know whether I caught the right track or not.

Thank you for the reply! I still need all months in the slider, I just want the selection to be automatically done on the latest month and have it changed automatically to the next latest month next month.

It seems to be it, thank you, CheenuSing! I think I even came across this posting but discarded it because on the first glance it looked different from what I needed.
