Same column filter, but showing different values after converting data type to 'text'

Hello,

I wanted to make my ID column (data type: number) a searchable filter so I've duplicated the ID column and made the duplicated field's data type to Text. However, that I've created same filter with duplicated ID filter (text type) and it's now showing different values in the filter.. any idea why this is happening?

I checked the backend table again where the column was duplicated and everythign seems fine...any advice is appreciated. 

 

ex. the ID (TEXT) filter does not have ID 54 or 83 and other values.

Can you provide a Power BI file with those two columns? You can delete anything else. 😉 

 

Numbers are sort from 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10 and for text it will be 1, 10, 2, 3, 4... etc.

 

You can select ID (TEXT) and order it by column ID (Number) to check all the values.

thank you so much that worked!! I clicked on the duplicated Id field (text type) in the Fields panel then chose "sort by column" and chose the ID column (number type) and it worked in Format pane.
