I have a report that runs in Salesforce and feeds my PowerBI desktop report. It is set-up to automatically update daily. We recently passed 2,000 line items (rows) in the report, and it looks like anything beyond that number does not come over to PowerBI. If I export the Salesforce report all of the data is there (3,003 records) it's just not getting to PowerBI for some reason. I have NO plans of exporting this report to Excel daily to update PowerBI. Anyone else having this issue? Suggestions?
Hi @LisaHoffer
As @v-haibl-msft mentioned, the 2,000-row cap is a Salesforce Reports API limitation, not a Power BI one — so the only way around it is to bypass that API entirely.
If you'd rather not rebuild everything against Salesforce Objects (which can get tedious with custom fields and joined data), there's a purpose-built option on Salesforce AppExchange: Power BI Connector for Salesforce:

Why it fits this exact scenario:
Happy to set up a quick demo if it'd help - we can walk through how it handles reports with 3K+ rows and how the Power BI side connects. Just reach out via the support link.
Cheers,

Hi @LisaHoffer As a workaround, maybe you can try to test your connection with a 3rd party connector. I've tried windsor.ai, supermetrics and funnel.io. I stayed with windsor because it is much cheaper so just to let you know other options. In case you wonder, to make the connection first search for the Salesforce connector in the data sources list:
After that, just grant access to your Salesforce account using your credentials, then on preview and destination page you will see a preview of your Salesforce fields:
There just select the fields you need. It is also compatible with custom fields and custom objects, so you'll be able to export them through windsor. Finally, just select PBI as your data destination and finally just copy and paste the url on PBI --> Get Data --> Web --> Paste the url.
There is a 2000 row limitation for Salesforce. This is not a Power Query connector limitation but a general Salesforce Reports API restriction. For details, please refer to this link.
Best Regards,
Herbert
