Salesforce Report/object connector error

Hi,

I receive "The service returned an invalid token. please contact your it administrator if this issue persists" after I have authenticated my account for Salesforce. I have unblocked the "Microsoft Power Query" restriction in Salesforce and the "Refresh token is valid until revoked" setting is activated in Salesforce settings aswell. I still receive the same error. Does anyone have a solution to the error/problem?

Thank you in advance!

  • Have a look at your API call count budget. You may have run out of credits.

API call count should not be a problem in this case. Still try to figure out this problem

What type of login are you using? Your company's SSO or a dedicated SFDC username/password?

  • Hi Arnerud ,

Glad you got this sorted! Just leaving a note for anyone who lands here from search and can't get the "grant access" step to stick - Salesforce SSO + Power BI's connected app sometimes refuses to renew its OAuth token cleanly, especially after a tenant policy change.

If you've been fighting it for a while, just so you know there are other options out there. One option worth a look is Metrica Power BI Connector for Salesforce on the AppExchange . It uses its own Connected App on the Salesforce side, so SSO/token quirks with Power BI's built-in connector don't block it. There's a 30-day trial, and more details on https://metricasoftware.com/.

Happy to walk you through a quick demo if that'd help - just drop us a line.

    Cheers,

    Metrica Team.
